This document should answer most of the basic questions you have regarding Yealink W73 cordless phones.
Transfers #
Blind Transfer (sends call directly to user. NO Confirmation) #
- Press TRAN
- Select user
- Press TRAN again
- If unanswered the call goes to voicemail and is emailed & transcribed
Attended Transfer (announce/confirm before transferring) #
- Press TRAN
- Select user
- Press Green Phone button (NOT TRAN)
- Speak with recipient
- To complete: Press transfer in the top right
- To cancel: Press End.
⚠️ If you press TRAN again, it will blindly transfer!
Hold, Mute, & Parking #
- Mute (temporary silence, no hold music): Press Mute
- Caller hears silence
- You CANNOT take another call until parked or placed on hold
- Hold (local hold with music/announcements):
- Press Options → Hold
- Only your phone can resume the call
- Other users cannot pick up unless parked or transferred
- Park (shared hold, any phone can retrieve):
- Press TRAN
- Enter 701–710
- Press TRAN again
- Acts like a blind transfer
- Retrieve: Dial the parking slot (701–710) → Press Green Phone Button
Call Limits #
- Max 2 active calls per cordless phone (includes attended transfers)
- If a 3rd call comes in:
- Park one call first
- Perform attended transfer
- Retrieve parked call afterward
Multiple Calls #
- If you need to take a second call, scroll down to the call and press accept in the top left.
- You can scroll up and down between the two calls.
- The held call will have a red pause symbol, and the active call will have a green phone symbol.
- Muted calls will have a red microphone.
Voicemail #
Set via Web: #
- Sign into the PBX
- Sign in → Click Voicemail (top right)
- Click on Greetings
Set via Phone: #
- Hold 1
- Enter voicemail password (contact CMG if unknown)
- Press 0 → 1 for mailbox options
- Press 2 to record busy message (most common)
Quick Tip: Use Parking if multiple people may need to answer a call.
Use Attended Transfer if you want to introduce the caller first.
Use Blind Transfer if you just want to send the call straight over.
Active Calls will have a green phone symbol. The customer can hear you when it’s green!!!!
